WARNINGS:
Isolated thunderstorms. In the Central and South Adriatic local gusts of SE and SW, then of NW wind 35-40 knots but decreasing during the day. In the North Adriatic gusts of NE wind increasing to 35-45 knots.

SYNOPSIS:
A trough with a frontal disturbance is shifting across the Adriatic further on to the east whereas a ridge of high is gradually intensifying from the west.

FIRST 12 HOURS:
In the North Adriatic NE wind increasing to 10-20, up to 24 knots in the Velebit Channel whereas still initially NW wind 6-16 knots in the open. In the Central and South Adriatic SE, towards the open sea also SW wind 12-24 but in the north of the area, then also elsewhere turning fast to NW wind which will be decreasing to 6-16 knots during the day. The sea 2-3 but 3-4 still in the morning towards the open and towards late in the day in the Velebit Channel. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or rain showers with thunder. Towards midday partial clearing up but isolated rain showers with thunder are still likely.

NEXT 12 HOURS:
Mostly clear, in the second part of the night in the open sea of the North Adriatic southwards of Istria and in the Central Adriatic variable cloudiness and light rain or few isolated rain showers with thunder. In the North Adriatic moderate to reinforced NE wind, also strong at the foot of Velebit. Elsewhere light to moderate NW, during the night turning to NE wind along the coast. The sea smooth to slight, possibly also moderate in the Velebit Channel.
